Lil Red
I think "pro-option" is a better term.
From the Coalition for Clarity: THE CATECHISM ON TORTURE "2297 Kidnapping and hostage taking bring on a reign of terror; by means of threats they subject their victims to intolerable pressures. They are morally wrong. Terrorism threatens, wounds, and kills indiscriminately; it is gravely against justice and charity. Torture which uses physical or moral violence to extract confessions, punish the guilty, frighten opponents, or satisfy hatred is contrary to respect for the person and for human dignity. Except when performed for strictly therapeutic medical reasons, directly intended amputations, mutilations, and sterilizations performed on innocent persons are against the moral law." CCC 2297 "...I reiterate that the prohibition against torture “cannot be contravened under any circumstances...”" Pope Benedict XVI

kujo
Disclosure: Big fan of Romney.
I understand what you are saying. Paul is extremely pro-life though, and is even a pro-life doctor. He thinks that it should be up to the States and more localized power to make the laws. He believes the federal government is too big...
You mean, the states ought to be deciding things for themselves? Does that argument extend to creating, administering and paying for a universal healthcare plan, too?!
What's everyone got against Rick Santorum?
Google his name.
Skinzo
It's way too early to say. Some posting here seem to think Obama has a good chance of winning but the economy is still sputtering and his approval rating on that has dropped into the 40's. We have high gas prices, high unemployment, and falling house prices. Not a good formula for an Obama victory. This news article of today is quite relevant. Polls show voter confidence in congressional Republicans ability to handle the economy is up 11 points since March. "Among all Americans, Obama and Romney are tied at 47 percent each. Among registered voters, Romney is ahead 49 percent to 46 percent." No president ever wants to enter a re-election race with numbers below 50%. If the economy does not improve, Obama is very vulnerable. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/pl_nm/us_poll_obama S.
Papist
The biggest problem the GOP is making is they are trying to find someone the media will like. AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!! Just find a true conservative with no skeletons in his closet and won't be a candy-wuss when debating Obama.

MagiDragon
On a similar note, apparently she's coming to Europe soon. I don't even want to be on the same continent as her (or 'country', as she probably thinks Europe is).
Do you actually object to any of her positions? Life issues, taxes, environment . . . she's pretty much dead on with all of those. You *do* realize that the vast majority of what she has been bashed with was just made up by the media, don't you? For instance she didn't know "the Bush Doctrine" . . . well, there were at least 3 different 'Bush Doctrines' at the time . . . "I can see Russia from my house." Actually, Tina Fey said that while doing one of her hit jobs as a Palin impersonator. The real quote was "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska." I don't think Sarah would be the best president, and I wish she wouldn't run because she'll be unfairly treated, but she's easily in the top 20% of recent politicians. (Note: 'recent politicians' not the best group to be running a country in the first place.) So in summary, you should feel honored that she's condescending to spend some time in the quaint old country of Europe.
