AccountDeleted
Okay, Thessalonian - good news but perhaps also sad... I have just read through the research and Harold Camping does not say the world will end on MAy 21st - he says the RAPTURE will take about 3% of the earth's population (around 200 million) but the world won't end until the 21st October - six months later. So you have time for your gooey chocolate cake and you will still get to see Jesus - but not right now.... that is unless you are one of the one's caught up in the rapture, but I think if you are eating gooey chocolate cake, God might just passover you this time, and wait til October! Happy now?
Laudate_Dominum
"The solemn temples, the great globe itself, yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, and, like this insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep."
Laudate_Dominum
To explain myself: I just watched this rad movie and The Tempest was quoted a couple times.
Luigi
Really? German chocolate cake? Of the 7,899,461 kinds of cake on the face of the earth, you prefer German chocolate? After you've read somebody's posts for a couple of years, you think you know 'em... and then they post some radically wild, off the wall comment that makes you stop & scratch your head... like, "Can this even be the same person I thought I knew?" Whatever. To each his own, I guess. Happy birthday, even if it does include German chocolate cake.
Kilroy the Ninja
I just hope it can hold off until after 4:30 Central standard time. That's when confession starts at my parish. And my son's final baseball game of the season will be over by then. That would be really nice if it could just happen maybe say 7-ish...
Kilroy the Ninja
Oh wait... it's the Rapture happening... ahhh, ok. Good thing I don't believe in that!
AccountDeleted
Well, whatever is supposed to happen, it could start soon because in 15 minutes it's going to be May 21st here in Australia! I don't know whether I should go to bed or wait up - is it like Santa Claus - do I have to be asleep for it to happen?

thessalonian
You better believe it. If the we knew when the world was going to end, wouldn't my last day be best spent going to confession and spending the day with my husband? God bless- LGLG
I believe it was St. Alphonsus Ligouri who was playing chess one day and was asked what he would do if he knew the world was going to end that day. He said "I would continue playing chess". Some might see that as presumptuous but it is probably more a total trust in God. The reality is I like you would probably go to confession. Yes, spend the day with your husband.

Earthquakes supposed to be all over the world on the 21st. I'm losing my job today. Does that count for anything?
AccountDeleted
I guess I timed it right then... since I live 'off the grid' (no power or city water or plumbing or heating... and since I am inland and way above sea level and in the Australian bush.... well, just don't know if any of those things like earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, etc are going to reach me here and if they did - what could they take away? And if all the priests are going to be left behind with us, well, lots of confession time, right? I'm just saying, my life isn't going to change much , so I will be praying for the rest of you.
