Jaime
That leaves things quite wide open, whilst giving you time to not be in the thread and have no appearance of having quit the field of battle. So, good strategery.
I got it from Nihil and I love it This will, for now, be my last post in this thread

Lil Red
here's my piddly two cents: I think quite a few of us here on phatmass have been to an EF Mass. i don't know about everyone else, but I have been several times. Yes, they were beautiful liturgies (not that I would know an abuse if it smacked me in the face). But honestly, if it was available in my city, I would probably not go every Sunday. I'd maybe go once a month. I like the OF when it is celebrated the way it should be. It's beautiful too. And I like knowing what's being said without looking at a translation. It doesn't make me less reverent, or less smart, or less gifted of an understanding of liturgy, that I want to go to the NO. I'm just Catholic, and the beauty is that I can go to the OF or the EF and just be with Jesus in the Eucharist.

KnightofChrist
Actually, you did:
Actually no he didn't. You're twisting his words. But this is no surprise.
Also, the reason your ideas are not "in vogue" here is because, if you'll recall, the vast majority of people who were of that persuasion decided to split and form their own online community some time ago. And that's fine - it's a free country, as they say - but you shouldn't be surprised that when all of the proponents of an idea decide to go someplace else, the idea suddenly becomes less popular. That's pretty simple and straightforward cause and effect.
Actually we left because we were forced out, forced out by individuals, such as yourself, who hold bigoted views of those who embrace Tradition and the Extraordinary form of the Mass. Phatmass viewed us and still does view us as a bunch of Pharisaical prideful schismatics etc etc. Having been shown so much hate and bigotry it was simply time for the most of us to leave and form a more perfect union. This will be my last post on this site as long as I live, for I have no time to be abused by bigotry any longer and because this place is no longer a place to have an free exchange of ideas. Likely because Tradition wins out against emotional appeals and modernism. So be it. God Bless, KnightofChrist

HisChildForever
All I'm saying is that some people have particular gifts in understanding the Liturgy. In my experience I've found more of these people at the EF rather than the OF, which relates back to how the *average* attendee of the traditional Mass will tend to be better informed, etc. than the *average* attendee of the new Order.
Those who take offense to what Nihil said should keep in mind that the "average" attendee of the Traditional Mass most likely "started out" as an attendee of the NO. In other words, the attendees in question developed their deep love of the liturgy at NO Masses and took it from there. (That's not to say that only OF to EF attendees have a great love of the liturgy, however.)
Winchester
I have friends on both sides of this, and I think that I like Elves and New Orleans. Actually, I hate New Orleans. Sorry. Maybe it's because of the FEMA flood insurance thing.

dUSt
Actually we left because we were forced out, forced out by individuals, such as yourself, who hold bigoted views of those who embrace Tradition and the Extraordinary form of the Mass.
The only individual who actually has the power to "force" you out, is yours truly. So, I take it you mean me when you say, "hold bigoted views of those who embrace Tradition and the Extraordinary form of the Mass". I'm sorry you feel this way. I love people who embrace tradition, because I embrace it myself. I love people who embrace the EF mass, because I embrace it myself. So, it's unfortunate you were lead to believe otherwise.
Phatmass viewed us and still does view us as a bunch of Pharisaical prideful schismatics etc etc.
Unfortunately, yes, I have viewed many people who left as being somewhat prideful. I am guilty of this offense. I'm sure some of it was warranted, and some of it was not. I apologize for having these thoughts if they were unfounded. Personally, I appreciate it when my fellow Catholics make me aware of my shortcomings, because it gives me an opportunity to try to be a better person.
Having been shown so much hate and bigotry it was simply time for the most of us to leave and form a more perfect union.
I don't understand the concept of leaving to form a more perfect union, but to each his own.
This will be my last post on this site as long as I live, for I have no time to be abused by bigotry any longer and because this place is no longer a place to have an free exchange of ideas.
Where does "free exchange of ideas" stop? Should we allow nudists to create profile pics? Should we allow pedophiles to argue their case? Should we allow neo-Nazis to post agenda posters? I appreciate your optimism, but every community must have some type of general guidelines and etiquette. Maybe I've not done the best job at where that line is, but I'm doing my best, and my intentions of glorifying Christ's church are pure.
Likely because Tradition wins out against emotional appeals and modernism. So be it.
I'd like to think so. Peace man. Hopefully some day you'll come back.
