yeah, st. rose would definitely be playing that....

BUT

perhaps not at Mass? perhaps chillin out in the garden, or sitting on the front porch she'd pull out her guitar and play a couple of john denver tunes....

She'd be doing a Bob Dylan-style rendition of Friday. :clapping:

I heard drums being used in the music of Pope Benedict's procession into Saint Peters for the beatification. Apparently the Latins are offending their own Church culture in the Basilica these days.

Wow... pictures of St. Teresa with the tambourine and a grumpy St. Thomas, and the horse video. No wonder this thread has a 5-star rating :like:

my favorite non-chant, irreverant and heretical litany of the saints accompanied by the secular piano:

actually I've always been a big fan of the Old Chant litany of saints, but once I heard and sung this one, I knew it was an extraordinary piece of modern liturgical music with a deep spirit of humility, love, and prayerfulness. I really like it.

You need to quote something out of context from an obscure document to back it up. Then we can debate properly! :saint:

It is a pretty good vid, tho.

Edit: Not sure I heard the song you originally posted. I got some error messages, and by the time I got through them, I heard "Hallelujah" (from Shreck) by a bunch of Norwegians or Swedes. Soe my comment below may be off point, but I really wasn't trying to hijack the thread.

"This is a terrific song, and this version is quite good - although it's missing a couple of verses. I have kind of a love-hate relationship to Cohen's songs - some of 'em are really good, others I totally can't stand, and most of them are seriously depressing.

But I've always thought that his "Song of Isaac" should be used at pro-life rallies... with perhaps one or two lines re-worded."
