OnlySunshine
Does anyone know where I can get a printer either really cheap or free? I don't mind if it just prints black and no color as long as it works. My dad has messed up our desktop so bad that I cannot get on it to print. I tried hooking up the printer to my laptop by my OS is Windows 7 which is not compatible with the Dell printer. My mom refuses to replace the other one, so I am forced to suffer because my dad doesn't know what he's doing. I feel like banging my head against a brick wall because I need a printer for resumes and such since I am looking for a job. None of the libraries here anymore have printers and the ones at school are not available during the breaks between semesters. I have a job interview tomorrow and I cannot bring a resume with me since the computer will not work. Sarah147
What about using a USB device and taking it to an office store with a copy center? The people behind the desk can print it for you. Or, some newer printing machines allow you to hook up a USB device directly to it! A w esome. Edited April 27, 2011 by JoyfulLife
IcePrincessKRS
Walmart $29 bucks at Walmart, probably your cheapest option if you need to buy one fast. Bear in mind, this is a really affordable option, some print cartridges are more expensive than that! I bought one similar to this a few years ago for doing my taxes and it served me very well. Target has the same model for 99cents more if you don't want to shop at WalMart. I may have to see if we have any office centers like Office Max, Staples, or Office Depot that offer it. I have an Office Max right down the street, so that would be convenient. I really need to print a resume for tomorrow. I hate not having one. I wish I could buy a wireless printer because my room is so small and I don't have a desk. I still don't know where I would put it. I'll have to figure that out. Thanks. IcePrincessKRS
I had a really small room when I had that type of printer, too. I stashed it under my bed when I wasn't using it! lol I hope you can figure out a convenient and cost-effective solution soon! I know how it is when you don't have access to a printer, even if it's only because you ran out of ink. It can be crippling! (We homeschool, my printer is used almost more than my stove! haha)

I hate doing it, but I have gotten on to my dad for basically wrecking the desktop. I don't use it that often because I have a laptop with wi-fi, so the only time I need to use the other computer is to print, scan, or copy something. He keeps watching stuff and loading stuff on it without taking anything off and so the memory is completely shot. The loading time when you start up the computer is absolutely frustrating. The last two times I've tried to get on it, it's slower than usual and the computer doesn't want to print anything. My mom made me really upset tonight when she said that she doesn't care about the printer and she is not replacing it since my dad has wrecked it. Ok, but what about me? I didn't wreck it! I have a job interview tomorrow for a full-time position, so I am hopeful that I will get it. I have all the requirements. The only thing I am worried about is the fact that my CNA certification is not up to date. I let it expire in December because I couldn't afford the CEUs and the fee to renew. I hope they don't require me to already have a renewed certificate since it's not a CNA position, but an activities assistant job. OnlySunshine
Well, good news. My mom got the computer to work again. Apparently, it doesn't like my account for some reason, so I went on hers, and bingo! It worked! I don't know why mine won't work, but I'm thinking about deleting my account and starting all over again. Also, I was able to print out my resume. Nihil Obstat
Hang out at Staples (as long as they have a recycling drop off), and when someone takes a printer in to drop off, ask if you can buy it from them for $10. Chances are it works moderately well and they just want a better one, and getting $10 is better than getting 0.
