IcePrincessKRS
geez, people. don't like it, complain. pretty sure the person running it is Catholic. and submit stuff...i think they have a hard time keeping it updated. edit: from the about page: to you, it's disrespectful. humor, like art, is subjective.
There were a few that I thought were skirting the line of tactlessness, but most I saw were either funny or harmless. I think the "disrespect" issue probably factors in because they had let people register and upload their own images. If it were only the site creators then I am sure it all would have been more in keeping with funny and not tact-challenged. I did notice one post that they had disabled the option for new users to join (but previously registered users could still upload) because of spam issues. So, I'm going to go ahead and say it's not the site's fault but some of it's users (as with any forum or site where the public can add content). tnavarro61
i find them disrespectful. they are images of heavenly persons, especiallly of Jesus and JEsus doesn't deserve to be made fun of. I am sorry tosay that. and besides when we pray using the orginal images, we might then break into laughter when we remember the stuffs in that site. that would be not good. "According to St John's Gospel, Thomas missed one of Christ's appearances to the Apostles after His resurrection. He therefore announced that, unless he could thrust his hand into Christ's side, he would not believe what he had been told. A week later Christ appeared, asked Thomas to reach out his hands to touch Him and said, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." This drama of disbelief seems to have touched Caravaggio personally. Few of his paintings are physically so shocking - his Thomas pushes curiosity to its limits before he will say, "My Lord and my God". The classical composition carefully unites the four heads in the quest for truth. Christ's head is largely in shadow, as He is the person who is the least knowable."
So the photo isn't exactly reverent but the authors obviously use it as a segue. AudreyGrace
I think Jesus has a pretty strong sense of humor. *story time* Last Sunday, my mom and I went to adoration. It was just us for our hour, and we were kneeling right before him. Well, to put it quite frankly, I farted. My mom busted out laughing, saying how earlier in the day she was pondering Jesus' humanity, especially whether or not he farted. So idk. Funny stuff happens with Jesus. lol.
That reminds me of my freshman year of college. A group of friends (about 5 of us) were going to Mass at the Cathedral one Saturday evening. We were REALLY loud in the car and as we got out I told everyone to shush and be respectful. We all quietly filed into the church and into a pew, and as we knelt down, I burped REALLY loud and it even echoed. And then everyone just cracked up! It was SOOOOOO BAD!
I usually sit in the front pew, right in front of the priest. At the end of Mass, he'll usually say something like "have a good night". Well, one time, he decided to say "have a safe trip home," instead. So out of habit, I said quite loudly "you too, Father." and he just turned, looked at me, and laughed. He lives ATTACHED TO the Church.
