Cherie
Ok, ANYWAY ... While this impression of mine certainly isn't always the truth, all the hype about the Royal Wedding and royalty and such brings to my mind a time of dignity, grace, and refinement. Oh, that our world would go back to the days when things like that were important. We were taught to act similarly to that in religious life. I love it! PS that doesn't mean SNOOTY, either. That's not a good thing. I mean true dignity, and we all know that is lacking in today's world.

Archaeology cat
I get an extra day off work, so I'm pretty happy . As to the rest, I'm none too bothered. I wish them both well, and hope they have a long and happy marriage... and, come to think of it, London does look pretty cool at the moment, decked out as it is with flags and pennants and such things. I won't be watching though.
Yep. I might be slightly annoyed at the bank holiday, actually, for the sole reason that it means the playground will be more crowded. I'm not a fan of big crowds. So guess it's a good thing I'm not going to be in London for the wedding weekend.

she_who_is_not
I've been procrastinating by watching the Royal Wedding specials on TLC. They have the cutest Fancy Feast commercial where a girl takes her boyfriend home for dinner and she's playing with her big, fluffy Persian and boyfriend sees her looking at the cat in a way she will never look at him (unless it's that weird Bjork music video) and he has that strained man-thinking face on. The boyfriend has an idea. So, in the next shot he's creating a kitty play area in her apartment and she walks in and he places the cutest little white, fluffy, baby kitten on the rug. Adorable, right? Oh, wait there's more. Girl picks up the kitten and it has a little silver heart charm and the engraving reads, "Will you marry US?" I die. Every time. I've seen it 4-5 times now and I cry every single time. I'm excited. For the dress. And an excuse to drink champagne at 5 a.m. Edit: I capitalized Champagne. It's very important to me. Maximilianus
This event might be worth watching if they have a jousting tourney in which the future king takes on a mysterious challenger from a land called Florin...or if the music used ample cowbell.
