I don't know if I will get up that early, but I'd love to watch it. I know they are coming through here on their first trip, and we will probably get an invitation to the luncheon. My husband gets invitations to all those kinds of things.

LOL, when I read this, the first thing that popped into my head was the show "Keeping Up Appearances." Hyacinth was always talking about her husband, Richard, getting invitations to the Royal Garden Party.

He a member of the Order of Canada, so he is expected to make appearances. I hate them. He knows I hate them, and I think really enjoys making me dress up.

As to the rest, I'm none too bothered. I wish them both well, and hope they have a long and happy marriage... and, come to think of it, London does look pretty cool at the moment, decked out as it is with flags and pennants and such things.

I won't be watching though.

It's fine to not like the monarchy (I don't either), but to call William a rat is kind of overkill.

I just saw a commercial for if you want to buy a replica (cheap one, of course) of the engagement ring. I hadn't seen the ring before, but always said that was the type of ring I wanted. With them showing the ring, playing their national anthem, and talking about how it was a "fairy tale story", i got all like this ... almost.
