congrats Lisecki! Your screename made me think of my bishop whose last name is Listecki.

:)

Yeah the phorum here can be tough going at times, but eventually you will learn how to discern what is good and what is not good as you mature. It is always good to stick to Tradition, Scripture, Magisterium.

After a year of working towards this....RCIA....talking with all and sundry...I was received, confirmed and took first Communion at the Easter Vigil.
I had a bit of fun getting my baptismal certificate. It turns out that my folks didn't baptise me at the same church that they did my siblings. They decided to do it out at the base where my father was stationed at. After many emails with the United Church archivist, I finally got the email address for Ottawa (They hold the military records. and that base is long gone) I didn't think it was going to be here in time, so my godmother swore an affidavit. The copy from Ottawa and her affidavit got here on the same day, so I was good to go.

The Vigil was really the most amazing night of my life.

It was a wonderful journey to get here, and now it continues...

I joined these forums a while back, but stopped coming as it was messing with my head a bit as I was going through the RCIA process. Thought I would come back again and give it another shot. How are you doing? :)

Dear Liseki,

Praise be to God and many Blessings upon you. The Vigil was the greatest night of my life too and has always held a very special place in my heart.
For me the Vigil is more special than Christmas and Easter. And Lent is my favorite season in the Church.

Again Congrats!

Treasure this great gift and guard it well. There are many lapsed Catholics and cafeteria Catholics and I know because I became one for many years. God has been so kind to me and now I guard my faith as the greatest treasure I could ever have. It is the pearl of great price.

Welcome and may every day of the rest of your life be filled more and more with the glory and grace of God.

Just before I came to Phatmass I was lapsed from the Church for 7 years. It was the darkest, most agonizing
experience of my whole life. That is saying a lot because I went through many years of abuse but even that
I got past. I have begged our Blessed Mother never to let me leave the Church ever again. I really don't want
to go back to that horrible place of darkness and confusion. Since I've returned I am guarding this treasure
with all my heart. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement.

Alleluia! Tis great news. That's one reason I love going to the Vigil Mass is to see people get baptized into the church! I love it!

God bless you
