Ash Wednesday
You still care about the Penguins? They aren't even in your division or conference. Shaking my head at you so hard right now. Happy Easter.
Ash Wednesday
To be honest, Roamin, the way you acted after the Wings won in 08 competely turned off any desire I've ever had to discuss hockey with most Wings fans now, and hockey on phatmass in general, that is a fact. Selah
We know the Penguins smell of elderberries, okay? We Pittsburghers are used to it. It's not like it's a big surprise to us when they lose
Ash Wednesday
What gets me is that I didn't see anyone acting immature and gloating after 2009. At least I hope not. Honestly disappointed in you. Edited April 23, 2011 by Ash Wednesday
Roamin Catholic
oh come on..I'm just having fun. I honestly wish Crosby was playing (something you don't hear from many Wings fans) as it would bring the attention on the playoffs up. For the record, we mainly just spammed threads back then, I doubt any of us were truly vicious about anything, if we were, my bad. There are by far more important things in life other than sports. Maybe not something I realized 3 years ago, but do now. But regardless of any of this, the Lightning have become my 2nd favorite team earlier this year. So...Go Lightning!! Ash Wednesday
As long as you only mean it in good fun...my hackles are down Maybe I can talk my babcia in law into letting me have some of that 100 proof cognac she made. She'll probably make us wait until tomorrow... I more or less like the Lightning. I still think the Pens will close it on the road, tho. They haven't closed at home in almost 3 years. But in all seriousness, I guess what I honestly don't understand is why some Wings fans would still care about the Penguins. Yeah we got one back but it's not like you guys are going to win EVERY year!

Right now the only teams that happens with for the Wings on a consistent basis are the Blawkhawks and the Penguins. Add to the fact that I can't stand Crosby, his attitude, and the way the league and the media worship him. (but that is a discussion for a different time) I think it is healthy to have rivals in other conferences; plus the Wings belong in the Eastern anyways. I take it you haven't been following them lately...the good news is, things got a little better after 2003-04. Didn't take much to accomplish that, though.
I don't know a lot of Pens fans that feel the same way about the Wings, though. Most of the time they just gripe about the Flyers and Capitals. But I guess things changed after the Ducks went downhill and Pronger left. Crosby can't help the way he's exposed by the media, he never asked for it and don't even get me started on his dad. He has his flaws but he is also a genuinely nice person off the ice and does a lot for his team and his city. But I guess people don't really want to hear about the fact that he's not some player on a card or a poster, that he's actually a human being. The same goes for Pens fans that wonder why he "isn't back yet" and fail to realize that concussions aren't something to be messed with. People may not like him, but the sport is not the same without him and I hope that his career is not ended early.
I'm Listening to the....
