Nihil Obstat
I've got an amesome recipe for a pound cake... very simple. Mixed dry ingredients: 3 cups flour, ½ tsp. salt, ½ tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 cups of sugar. Pour in 4 sticks of melted butter, 2 tsps. vanilla, and stir lightly. Add ½ cup of sour cream, ¼ milk, and six eggs. Blend on slow. Bake in tube pan, buttered and floured, at 325 for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for half an hour. I bet it would be great with cream cheese icing.

CatherineM
Add a big can of pumpkin to a regular cake mix. You don't need to add the oil, making it lower fat, and it comes out very moist, and pumpkin pie-ish.

CatherineM
My son once made a 7 layer birthday cake, each a different color/flavor. Make a three layer with the chocolate in the middle, cover with white frosting. Decorate with some party favor type of toys on top. Each slice gets a toy on top, and three layers of color. OnlySunshine
I personally think that Pineapple Upside Down Cake is the best. I used to like Boston Creme Pie, but my tastes have changed. Pineapple Upside Down Cake is very easy to make and Duncan Hines has a really good mix that is super moist.
