Cherie
Dear Pham, This is a "last chance" prayer intention, that's why I posted it here. Please pray for Regina, an 11-year-old girl from PA - the youngest of a homeschooling family of 8 children. About 4 weeks ago she was suddenly taken ill and had to be put on a ventilator. (Literally suddenly - one day she was fine, and the next she was sick. My in-laws had dinner with the family three days before she became sick, and she was perfectly fine!) She was rushed to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, where she still is. She has bleeding in her lungs, a terrible infection, cannot breathe on her own, and the doctors still cannot figure out what is causing it. They found out she has "secondary" infections like RSV, strep, and staph ... but the main cause of her illness, the reason she can't breathe? They have no idea. They have told her family last night they have done all they can do. Now they are going to take her off her machines. Please pray for a miracle, and for comfort for the family. Regina is a bright, beautiful little soul and her family is begging, begging, begging for a miracle. God bless you and thank you so much for reading this!!! Brother Adam
Wait, what? They haven't diagnosed her and they are taking her off the ventilation? Excuse me? Does she not have any insurance? Have they contacted the Thomas More Society about legal aid? Certainly I will pray for their family. Blessed John Paul II the Great, pray for us. St. Maria Goretti, pray for us. St. Elizabeth Seton, pray for us. St. John Bosco, pray for us. Blessed Virgin Mary, intercede on this child's behalf.

Cherie
Thank you so much for all of your prayers! I think they are taking her off because they're causing the bleeding in her lungs - so the machine keeps her breathing, but it causes her to bleed, which brings her to death's door anyway ... so it's like they can't win either way. It is a parent's WORST NIGHTMARE to be put in this kind of situation!!! Putting myself in that situation literally makes me sob. They are very dear family friends of ours. Honestly, I'm so grateful for your prayers - thank you so much! May God reward your kindness!!!

I totally understand the situation they are in, when my grandmother passed away last year she was on some sort of machine that helped her breathe and regulated her blood pressure, but fluid was backing up into her lungs, so she could have died by suffocation from the fluid or by the removal of the machine. It's sad that this is happening to such a young girl.
