Writing A Book

Recommended Posts

So I've been working on writing a book off and on for a while... it's at about 50,000 words right now but they need a lot of work... but I'm okay with the first 8 chapters (about 18,000 words) enough to share them with someone to get feedback. so I'll open it up here; it's something I hope to eventually get published if it's good enough, so i'm not gonna just send it to any old person, but tell me if you're interested in reading it and giving me pheedback and I might send it.

It is set a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has collapsed and all technology that ran with electricity has ceased to work. A strange boy with a mysterious secret finds a walled village centered around an old benedictine monastery that has an orphanage and school. Alchemy exists as a secret, banned art, connected to this village and school's history. Alchemy in this world is defined as a powerful art that, through understanding the basic nature of things, alters them at fundamental levels (it's the literary "magic" of this world, basically). It explores faith and doubt in sometimes dark ways, not exactly arguing for one way or another.

Ultimately, it's a book that, if it's succcessful, is destined to be burned by fundamentalists everywhere.

who's interested?

Nihil Obstat

I would love nothing more than to say that I am, but unfortunately with exam season kicking off, I can't commit the time. :(

Deus te Amat

I would love to read it and give feedback. I am a big fan of reading that sort of thing, and it would be a perfect stress relief right about now. PM me if you would like my help. :)

I work professionally as a freelance writer. I don't know if you have a budget but if you're interested I could work with you. I couldn't do it for free but I'd give you a good quote.

I'd like to read it, either now or if you reject me ( :( ) then when you finish it and are a famous author, and I can be like once upon a time I had an epic bet with this guy and I won.

I would like to read it, Aloysius. I'm a self-published author myself, and would happy to critique it for you.

thanks for the offer man, but I'm not exactly ready to do any professional work on it, especially involving money.
