Amppax
The second Matthew Kelly book, Rediscovering Catholicism, is great. Another that I would suggest is Catholic Christianity by Peter Kreeft. I'm reading it right know, and it's really good.

Nihil Obstat
On a less theological and more emotional/personal note, Come Be My Light is powerful and touching. While other books would be better for developing the knowledge of the faith, Come Be My Light might inspire the love. OnlySunshine
When I came back to the Church, I was attending a retreat and some people had donated some books that we were able to look at on a table and take if we were interested. I found 3 items and one of them was Surprised by Truth 2. I learned so much from that book and it was incredible to read the stories of conversions. Another book that I learned a lot from was "Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons?" I would recommend both of those books.

Clare Brigid
So, say someone comes up to you and says, "I'm Catholic, but I think I should learn more about my faith. I don't feel like I know what being Catholic is." This person is a young, professional woman, who is starting a career as a lawyer. What is the best book (or two) to get her? It's probably a little deeper than you intend, but I would strongly recommend Christ, the Life of the Soul, by Bl. Columba Marmion. It is digestible in small bites, but it is formatted for that approach. It is one of the best books I have ever read on what it means to live the faith. Brother Adam
Have you looked into dynamiccatholic.com or chastityproject.com? Lighthouse Catholic Media is also giving away Scott Hahn's Rome Sweet Home for a buck.
Seven77
1. Matthew Kelly's book Rediscovering Catholicism is a book I would recommend as well. 2. I'm kind of surprised that nobody mentioned Catholicism by Father Robert Barron. 3. A Father Who Keeps HIs Promises by Scott Hahn and I Believe in Love by Father Jean d'Elbee were 2 books that helped me out a lot. 4. For younger Catholics and/or those who read graphic novels should check out The Truth Is Out There published by Catholic Answers.

PhuturePriest
Rome Sweet Home, Crossing The Tiber by Stephen Ray, and Jimmy Swaggart Made Me Catholic by Tim Staples (Though this is a CD/DVD, not a book, it's still invaluable).

BG45
Rome Sweet Home and Catholicism for Dummies have both been mentioned, which are my top two. However, I think "Confessions of a Megachurch Pastor" should be added to that list. He breaks down his own journey from being pastor of one of America's largest Methodist congregations to Catholicism by using analogies from around the home to explain the major points of the Church's teachings. He writes plainly and is very easy to understand, while remaining engaging.
