Real conservatives will criticize Bush just as harshly as Obama. :|

Shea criticized Bush quite harshly on the use of torture.

I know. :) I posted that article on a different site. It was very well written.
Torture is disgusting.

This is just me, but I find Shea's over-reaction more over-the-top than Voris' initial hyberbolic rhetoric.

I'm finding that the whole idea of "professional Catholics" tends to lead me away from the Church more than drawing me towards Christ. When I get on tangents where I'm reading Catholic blogs that are more about their perception of doctrine than their experiences at church or in prayer, my thoughts drift from finding paths toward Christ and towards analysing the minutia of Catholic dogma.

On a related note about "professional Catholics", I've gotten where I'm having problems listening to my favorite EWTN radio show, Catholic Answers, because of the incessant plugging of books, the Catholic Cruise, and the products available on Catholic.com. A couple of times in the last couple of weeks, Tim Staples has been the guest from 6p-7p, and then entire hour is him saying, read these books, available on Catholic.com. While I do learn a lot from the show when a good guest is on, the barrage of ads has almost gotten to the point where it would be better for me if I just prayed the rosary or sat in silence with my thoughts.

This Lent, I spent my efforts concentrating on praying the Rosary every day, and reading Catholic classics like "Way of Perfection" by St. Theresa of Avila, and "Imitation of Christ" by Thomas Kepmer. These simple books brought me closer to Christ than a year's worth of blog reading and listening to Catholic radio.

Maybe not as harshly, but a true conservative doesn't recognize Bush as a conservative. The man spent money like a drunk'n sailor.

And Obama spends like a teenager in the mall with her daddy's credit card.

And without knowing its credit limit and without her daddy knowing.
