He is Risen!
I have a liturgy question. Last month I moved to a new city and have been attending my local parish where 2 things happen that I'm not sure about. 1. We have been starting mass kneeling and kneel all the way through the Kyrie. 2. When the gospel is proclaimed, it is done "skit style" ie: laity (not deacons) narrate the different "characters" in the gospel, the priest always says Jesus' words and there is soft organ music in the background. I'm wondering about this because I really want to give Father the benefit of the doubt, but I've never seen anything quite like this. What is the best thing I can do to support him? My immediate reaction is to be annoyed. Am I being too rigid? Is the mass invalid?
Theoketos
None of things are licit. Thankfully it is difficult to screw up the valid part. The best place to avoid this sort of non-sense is your local Latin Mass.
