XIX
I've been to Toronto once. It seemed like a very nice city at the time. It was also World Youth Day, so the entire metropolitan area was inundated with Catholics. So my view of Toronto is skewed in a very positive direction. Happy vibes. Edit: I like Boston for the same reason. I was there during Patriot Day for the Boston Marathon. I didn't encounter many of those angry Red Sox fans I keep hearing about. Patriot Day seems to bring out the best in Massachusetts. Edited June 19, 2011 by XIX

Therefore I mock everything Toronto related for no rational reason, just because it's Toronto and I'm in Calgary. On a related note, I feel the same way about the entire province of Manitoba, which probably has less people than Toronto does. XIX
You ain't gonna believe this, but you're post count used to fit in my hand. I used to say to MIKolbe, this Canadien's gonna be the best Canadien on Phatmass. This Canadien is gonna be somebody be a better poster than anybody I ever knew. And you grew up good and wonderful, it was great reading you, every post was like a privilege. Then the time come for you to become your own Nihil Obstat, and run up the score on your reputation points (REMEMBER THOSE LOLZ) and you did! But somewhere along the line, you changed. You stopped being you. You started letting trolls put a finger in you face and tell you your no good. And when things got hard, you started lookin' for something to troll. Like a big shadow. Lemme tell you something you already know. Teh interewbs ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as the internet. But it ain't about how hard you get hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep starving the trolls. How much you can take, and keep starving the trolls. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what Calgary is worth, then go out and proclaim what Calgary's worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying nobody likes this city, that city, or anybody! Chumps do that, and that ain't you! You're better than that! XIX
I could have sworn we were, but apparently we aren't. I am friends with Katy on facebook, so you do show up on my newsfeed. I once PMed you and congratulated you on you use of the term "intellectually consistent." I also used to visit the wackness manifested room a few times, from before you & Katy linked up. I remember a couple of other posts that I replied to... For the record, I pretty much assumed that this thread took a (much needed) turn away from the serious when you mentioned "Life is no fun if you can't mock the entire citizenship of a different city simply by virtue of the fact that they live in that city." So I tried to follow suit...erm...tried. What's funny is that MIKolbe chimed in, and I think that he of all people may be the only one that could actually understand what I was "saying."
