MissScripture
So, I've pretty much decided against doing what I went to school for. After much agonizing, and discussing and what not, my husband and I decided I would do something else. So, I was feeling pretty good about things...and then I call him this afternoon, and he throws a curveball my way --How do I feel about moving 2 states away? We had kind of decided that where we are living now is where we wanted to stay, but this is a huge opportunity for him, and would be a better schedule and better pay and all around better situation, except it is 2 states away! We just started painting our apartment, for crying out loud! How can we move now?!? Anyway, PLEASE, please say a few prayers for us, as we try to figure out what we're supposed to do! Thank you! Maggyie
Ahhhhhhhh! You gotta take opportunities as they arise! Would you know anybody in the new state?
MissScripture
In the state, yes. In the city, no. I think we need to take the opportunity...I just don't want to! Sometimes I wish God would just listen when I told Him what to do! Change scares me!
MissScripture
I realized what the problem was --when we were praying for a better job with better hours, we forgot to say WHERE we wanted it. We need to learn to be more specific!
Luigi
"We just started painting our apartment, for crying out loud! How can we move now?!?" You finish painting, let the paint dry, then you pack up! You probably packed half your stuff to get it out of the way when you painting, right? So just write on the outside of the box and put some maksing tape on it. I bet you'll wind up in a terrific parish!
OnlySunshine
I think this is a test. It seems like God is presenting you with a great opportunity and trying to see if you are willing to trust in Him. If everything is falling into place, it can only be because He wants you two states away. So the paint is done but you won't get to enjoy it! You can always paint your next place the same color. I think that if you and your husband turn this down, you could be missing something wonderful.
Papist
Sounds exciting. You'll be surprised how quick y'all will adjust to the move.

We need to learn to be more specific!
Yup.... I make that "mistake" all the time! But praise God that forgetfulness and not being detailed leads to an opportunity to practice trust and faith. Pray more about this possibility and see where He leads. All will be well... P.S. I initially read this thread title as "What Should I do with my wife"
She shall make me a sandwich..as it is lunch time. In all seriousness; this is an amesome opportunity for my career. It just comes right after we "thought" we had figured out what we were going to do with our lives. We love our Dr's and friends, and parish here..But buy moving we would be much closer to family and closer to a major airport where we can travel to see others more cheaply. Plus; we'd be farther from Canada.
