whats the point of even posting here, if we can't say this, and we can't say that...

and on the whim of one person, topics are closed?

you welcome people here, yet censor what they can and can't say... if I can't come here to state my problems with the Catholic Church, and find out IF what I believe is wrong, why do I even bother?

yet because of YOUR beliefs, you can say pretty much whatever you want about my protestant heresy...without consequence.

this isn't dialogue, its an attempt to assymilate all who come here... to maintain the holiness of the Catholic Church.

I must be a masochist, to keep coming back here for my daily dose of belittlement...is that even a word? it must be, I just used it.

but I still love you guys...believe me, I do.

Umm.. I've seen several Catholics get censored. Its often not a matter of what one says but how it is said.

We try to correct your misconceptions and lies about our Church, but usually what we have to say is not accepted. You end up bashing us. It's typical. I get it from my Protestant Family too. The misconceptions they hang onto seem to make them feel better then the truth. I have to tell them over and over that we do not worship statues, but they insist that we do.

Your avatar is [i]Heretic[/i] and you call yourself a [i]Sanctified Heretic[/i]. That's a powerful word and definition, and that's also a little stand-off-ish for someone wanting honest and productive dialogue. I don't think I've joined one of your posts yet, but I do read them, and the overall feeling I get from reading them is that you don't like Catholicism and you are pretty happy where you are as a Protestant, which is totally cool with your personal freewill and all. Soo... what are you talking about?

Lumberjack, I hate to say it, buddy, but if you don't want your posts censored, then please start showing a little more respect. That includes not repeating the same old false lines about the Church even when others have corrected you. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

since this forum is, in every respect, Catholic, then one must realize that it is a Catholics right and responsibility to 'maintain the holiness of the Catholic Church.'

I certainly wouldnt have started to post here under any other circumstances, and I darn well want to know if I am out of line or off base on any posting, even though I would never intentionally do so.

I am not being harsh, please understand, its not my intention to hurt your feelings,
its just that it is the responsibility of the moderators that if they are here to teach, and learn, then it is a massive obligation. All too many times people can be misslead. I have seen it for myself, not here, but on other sites.

I realize that you wish to learn, that is wonderful. So do I.

Please listen to someone who has visited more denominations of faith than I care to shake a stick at.

I may have been baptised catholic, but I wasnt raised one. I went to church, ANY church, by myself, since I was 6. No mom, no dad. I wanted God, and by Jesus I was gonna have him.(I've always been the stubborn one, and I had to have my way!)

This faith, this belief, this way of life know as catholicism is the oldest, the first, christian Church. The first Universal Church. They are the ones who sat at the last supper with Christ, listened to his sermon on the mount. If I cant learn from them, then my search has been in vain.

Show a little respect. Ok?

this board isn't run like other boards on the web, where ppl can say whatever they want when its not true.

in fact, phatmass is a rarity in cyber space because of that. its here to do its job, to spread the truth of the Catholic Church and to uphold its teachings.

many times peeps come in here, ranting and ignoring the great teaching andinformation being posted of the catholic faith to those who want to learn it, to later be ignored, mocked or worse.

if you want to learn how the Church is you are welcomed, but make sure you got an openmind and are sincere.

yes, we're not perfect, we are CONSTANLTY trying to instill humility and charity, for dUSt here demands it of BOTH sides. saints have shown us that it is in love that to share truth, they both shall be our shield.

phatmass is a great place to learn if your willing....its a two way street...again we're not perfect either. dont' worry, we all get on each other when we see someone mistreated. we are praying and striving to always become better christians and the last thing we want to do is drive someone farther away, instead of closer, to grow deeper in faith and charity together (believe it or not! )

its been great havig you here also. i hope you are learning new stuff about hte catholic faith becuase i guarantee it, you are learning het REAL STUFF here

thanks i know this is all new to you, in fact, it can be overwhelming, but hte peeps here are priceless......i encourage you to stick around, alot of us have been in your shoes one time or another....

oh and no one has been censored, its not like soem other *cough* boards that will ban you for even posting cuz your not catholic. you bring your stuff to the table and we'll bring ours. as long as its done accordingly, theres nothing to worry about.

actually, you're learning the catholic perspective of catholicism.

which seems pretty biased.

i'd personally ask an agnostic theologian if i wanted to get the most unbiased opinion of catholicism.
