MargaretTeresa
So, should I entertain the idea of skipping class on the Tuesday of Holy Week to go to the Diocese Chrism Mass? I wouldn't have to skip but for the fact that it's two and a half hours away. It would only be one class. Our pastor is urging those of us in RCIA to go. Pax and God bless. MissScripture
How important is it for you to be in class? I mean, is it a class you can miss without missing a whole lot? What is the teacher/professor like? Would they notice and/or care if you miss?
MargaretTeresa
He has taken attendance like twice. And, unless we are working on video edits, pry not much... I guess I'll just talk to the prOf lol.

Lisa
Yes. I normally always go to class. But a religious day? Holy Week? You're joining the church? Yes to all of these, yes to skipping class! chrism mass
krissylou
I'm with Miss Scripture. There are classes where you'd be missing a LOT and they're all cumulative and you'd be shooting yourself in the foot, and there are classes where each individual one doesn't matter as much. In my experience, most of them are in Category 2. As long as it's a Category 2 one, then I'd go to Mass and not sweat it. (Let the professor know where you are -- but make it more of an announcement than requesting permission.) If it's Organic Chemistry or something dreadful like that, then you should probably go to class and make a point to go to the Chrism Mass next year!
