That's what I've been doing. I learned that a few months ago specifically for that purpose. It's pretty aggravating that the archives accessible via the site only go back a few months to a year.

On the upside, my Google skills (which were pretty good to begin with) are that much more efficient now.

How about ... figuring out a way of tagging a thread as "old".

i.e. a thread that's more than say 1/2 year old gets a special color. And ... if it gets resurrected, it gets yet another color. At least for the first 2-3 new posts.

That way I *know* ahead of time that the thread gets resurrected. Its really annoying to start reading a thread and all of a sudden realize the age.
