New Phorum Guideline

dUSt

Recommended Posts

Effective immediately, any negative criticism of the current Magisterium will result in deletion, and a warning from the moderators. This includes but is not limited to criticism of the Novus Ordo or John Paul II.

Multiple warnings will result in a suspension of posting priveleges. This is my house--it appears that some of you didn't even bother to wipe the mud off your feet before coming in.

God bless.

The novus ordo is the new Mass. In the local language and a few other things. Somepeople don't like it, I am not sure why.

Good Friday

CreepyCrawler -- The Novus Ordo is the normative liturgy of the Latin Rite. It's the Mass you probably go to every Sunday. It's been in place since Pope Paul VI promulgated it in the late '60s, but some traditionalists refuse to accept it in favor of the earlier Tridentine Mass, which was replaced by the Novus Ordo.

dUSt -- Alleluia.

Yes is some areas. I think there are special rules about it though, you need the bishop to set it up and approve it etc.

If the local Bishop gives permission (indult). A Bishop is the chief liturgist in his diocese, and a priest needs his permission to say any Mass.

A "latin" Mass is usually the Tridentine Mass.

Dust - Amen

Amen, It's the norm, that's why I usually don't call it "novus ordo" I call it "the Mass"

I'm also glad the Pope allows the celebration of the Tridentine Mass too...

I actually heard that the Pope's private Masses are in the Tridentine. (It's a beautiful liturgy)

God Bless,

The Latin Mass is a beautiful experience, but so is a properly said Novus Ordo Mass.

And dUSt, thank you! You rock!
