My favorite order? Why the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta back when they were just the Knights of St. John of the Hospital of Jerusalem.

Oh, you mean those kind of orders, the institutes and societies...I guess my favorite is that one order that prays a lot and uses a habit, you know the one that covers the body and made of cloth.

Can I please put down a vote for FSSP? Because they kind of rock.

Also, I love Carmelite nuns, because they always smile. Always. It's seriously the coolest thing ever. I wish I could find a Third Order Carmelite group to join - my face needs a smile workout!

Choosing a favourite order is like choosing a favourite colour for me. Some days I like one better than another but without all of them, we wouldn't have colour at all - we need all of them to complete the palette of the rainbow.

I love the simplicity and poverty of spirit of the Franciscans.
I love the enthusiasm and stimulating intellect of the Dominicans.
I love the hospitality and focus on the liturgy of the Benedictines.
I love the asceticism and depth of prayer of the Carmelites.
I love the mixture of contemplation and apostolic service of the Augustians.

And then I think about the Salesians and the Vincentians and ... well, you see where I'm going. Every flower in the garden has its own beauty - thanks be to God. :)

Dominicans, 'cause my parish is OP, and all the novices come here for a year, so i've gotten to know them, and through them their order, really well. The novices rock! and so do the dominicans!!!!

Are you referring to the NDs or the DSMMEs? I know there are others but these two are prevalent here...

I also like to discern with the Phatmass Friars of the Eternal Internet. I will found an ofshoot. Phatmass Friars of the Perpetual Chat.

Now a reality. :P

The Carthusians always inspires me whenever I read about their life, when I watch Into Great Silence, read some literatures from their website. But it's quite impossible that I am called to become a Carthusians because I am answering a call to follow the footsteps of Saint Francis. :P

So, aside from the Carthusians, my favorite is the Franciscans of the Immaculate (without any traces of being biased.)
