InPersonaChriste
but what if you are a single man in the Church?
My reply was in refrence to a woman. But you could put that in context with a man, protector of the church.

Ada
I'd have to really learn more about all the different orders to come to a conclusion about which one is my favorite, but right now I'd say the Carmelites or Poor Clares, because I'm most familiar with them. LinaSt.Cecilia2772
I love the Congregation of Holy Cross. I go to a Holy Cross parish in Texas, so i've grown up with Holy Cross Priests, Sisters and Brothers working at the parish all my Life. It's been amesome getting to know the Order, and they just had a Brother of theirs canonized a saint last october, Saint Andre Bessette. And their founder Basile Antoine-Marie Moreau has been beatified to become a saint. It's amesome and i really want to go to Notre Dame (a Holy Cross university) when the time for college arrives. And if my vocation is to become a sister, I'll be a Holy Cross Sister =)
JenDeMaria
Carmelites!!! But I also deeply admire the Dominican order, especially in the area of philosophy -- and the Jesuits have their own special kind of amesomeness. I have a devotion to several Jesuit martyrs including St Paul Miki and Blessed Miguel Pro. It does seem that certain charisms tend to blend well, together -- like Carmelite mystical theology and Dominican philosophical discipline. There were Dominicans placed in positions of oversight during Saint Teresa's Carmelite reforms. When Father Gabriel of Saint Mary Magdalene compiled Divine Intimacy he did so as a student of the Dominican Thomist Father Garrigou-Lagrange. And while Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross was waiting to enter Carmel, she taught as a lay teacher at a Dominican school where she lived with the nuns. Those kinds of overlaps intrigue me. AccountDeleted
Choosing a favourite order is like choosing a favourite colour for me. Some days I like one better than another but without all of them, we wouldn't have colour at all - we need all of them to complete the palette of the rainbow. I love the simplicity and poverty of spirit of the Franciscans. I love the enthusiasm and stimulating intellect of the Dominicans. I love the hospitality and focus on the liturgy of the Benedictines. I love the asceticism and depth of prayer of the Carmelites. I love the mixture of contemplation and apostolic service of the Augustians. And then I think about the Salesians and the Vincentians and ... well, you see where I'm going. Every flower in the garden has its own beauty - thanks be to God. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness."
