CatherineM
I'm assuming you don't want the Latin version, so here is the English translation, Rule of St. Benedict

Chamomile
I've always been somewhat intrigued by Benedictines, but am mostly confused by the Rule. Especially when people say it works for people outside of monasteries - I have a hard time seeing how, since it's so focused on the life of a monk. And I remember reading a section in there about how a good monk isn't quick to laugh... and I thought, "Well, that's definitely not me!" Especially since I'm clumsy and have to laugh at myself a lot. How does a Benedictine interpret that? And then there's some stuff in there about corporal punishment of monks who do something wrong, I think... Anyways, since this is a thread about the Rule of St. Benedict, I would love if some Phatmass Benedictines could help explain it.
