These are the leaders of one of our groups on campus- hadn't heard the song until I met them, but it's a beautiful song about our life journeying with Our Lady

Okay I got it. We sang this song in high school when I was a freshman for All Saints Day. I fell in love with it and I'm sure most of my friends forgot it a week later but I never forgot it and I've just rediscovered it during my Discernment. I know it's more of a Christian song but I would still like to use it for my Discernment process. That's how I feel. It's absolutely beautiful.

This song was apparently written for his wife and is not intended as a religious song per se but if you listen to it you'll see how it can be taken very religiously. In fact it reminds me of the Spiritual Canticle by John of the Cross so when I hear it it is like Jesus singing to me. For example the line "come let me love you, let me give my life to you" it is like Confession. like the cross, there is so much meaning there. "Let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms" again the crucifixion, the pieta comes to mind as well. Imagine how much Jesus laughed with Mary and the disciples. Imagine how much He loves to hear us laugh, He wants to drown in it. "Let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you" close huh! Remember St John though who would rest his head on Christ's heart. Jesus wants the same with each of us! He wants your head next to His heart like He did that most beloved disciple. " let me always be with you" Helloo the Eucharist!!!

Such a beautiful song :cloud9: Only such beauty can come from God who is pure Love and pure Beauty and while we are wretchedness He wants to lift us up to Him. Always.

I have to say my new favorite song in general is Lifesong by Casting Crowns. I heard it at a Graduation yesterday and I fell in love with it. Then later I looked it up on Youtube and really listened to the words. It is somewhat Vocational because the lyrics are "Let my Lifesong sing to you. I want to sign your name to the end of this day knowing that my heart was true. Let my Lifesong sing to you" It is referring to God in a sense and I want my Lifesong to sing to Him. I want to Praise His name for the rest of my life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gnf1xczuOrA

Although not vocational per se, this has been the main song of my journey! A short time before I entered, my mother attempted suicide. She was unconcious for a long time, and then in a psychiactric hospital for nearly 4 months. This song came into my head as I walked home at about 1am the day she had gone in and I sang it with tears pouring down my face, knowing that it was, in a way, God's answer to my prayer earlier that day when I asked Him if I really should be leaving mum - I had been her carer for 20yrs from age 8. The same song has come to me repeatedly ever since, almost always in tough times and especially since I was sent away from Q.

Its the 2nd verse that gets me everytime:

Blessed be Your Name on the road marked with suffering, though there's pain in the offering, Blessed be Your Name

Then this one has also become 'my' song, the fear and hesitation, but determination to give all.

Really a rockin' song about the Christian faith.
