Perigee Moon Phase

If you live in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, you got a pretty good view of the "super-sized" moon or perigee moon. The moon's phase made it appear bigger than it usually looks to earth. I don't live in Texas, but it was incredibly eerie. I walked past our patio door on my way to the kitchen and noticed that everything was illuminated outside in a white light. I remembered my dad saying something about the moon looking huge tonight, but I wanted to go outside and see what it looked like. Mind you, it was dark where the light wasn't hitting and it was throwing shadows. The moon was very bright like the sun was shining right at it. It is a pretty cloudless night, but I could barely see the stars from all the light the moon was giving off. Stuff outside looked ghostly. If I had a telescopic camera, I would take a picture and post it here, but I only have a digital camera and it's not good enough to pick it up. Did anyone take any photos of it that they want to share? I love watching weird moon phases, especially the lunar eclipse we had this past December.

It was sooo bright!
I have a friend who has a camera telescope, he's really into space and astrophysics and what not, so I'll see if he has any. If he does, I'll post em : )

the moon farther south Texas looks like a big round mash o' cheez curdles from Wisconsin....

I would have loved to have danced outside in some kind of druid ritual. Way too cold, and the snow is still knee deep.

It was very bright on Saturday night but there were too many clouds here last night.

Yeah, it was too cloudy last night here too, so it looked nothing like Saturday night. I wished I had been able to take a picture of it. It was really incredible.

It's been super cloudy here the past several days... I only saw the faint glow Saturday through the clouds. Although, I love the moon...
