Personally, I think Futurama is a great example of witty humour which, yes, sometimes has some pg-13 moments, but tends to be clever and interesting rather than shocking.

I usually love to watch cartoons, they have been aimed at adults since the Bugs Bunny days, always a little campy humor thrown in to appeal to the older crowd while not being outright offensive or explicit for the kids. The examples mentioned here are pushing it, I have seen Family Guy, its very filthy in many episodes, the baby Stewie is outright filthy as wll as the dog, the whole family is dysfuntional, its more of an offering of trash meant to shock the adults and open the kids eyes to things they should not know. South Park is just pure garbage, they talk of it like its cutting edge, that would be so if you consider the edge to be pornography, paedophilia and disdain for christianity. American Dad is just more offensive trash aimed at the weak minded. The Simpsons is milder, less filthy and certainly more funny, I like Futurama, its less insulting and filthy, although it has its moments. It is a sad commentary on the society of this age that such fare is presented in a time slot so easy to be seen by innocent children, it says a lot about the parents who seem mute about what their children view.

The multi-cultural channel here has stopped showing the Simpsons because of the ongoing nuclear crisis. I guess Homer causes so many radiation leaks and meltdowns, that they didn't think it would be funny right now for their Asia viewers.

Family Guy is beyond offensive. It is the cartoon equal of Two and a Half Men, if not worse. When I am flicking through channels, my 4 year old son always wants me to stop on Family Guy b/c he sees it is a cartoon.

The first 6 or 7 seasons of Simpsons are really good. It's hit and miss after that. Much, much more miss than hit over the past decade or so. Note to Simpsons writers today -- Lisa is NOT funny. Stop making her the lead character.

My favorite cartoon is King of the Hill. I've been rewatching the seasons on Netflix since Fox stopped publishing the seasons on disc.

Tried to like Futurama. Just never clicked with me.

Family Guy, just a more extreme and cruder version of Simpsons. Add one dose of crack to induce a much higher rate of punch line delivery. Joke development is optional.
