Fidei Defensor
So I had a colonoscopy today. All I can say is that the prep is much worse than the actual procedure, mainly because I don't remember anything about the procedure. All I remember is being in the room and them giving me some drugs, and the next thing I remember is waking up in recovery. Hmm
homeschoolmom
Maybe they didn't really do it... Glad that it went well. Hope you get good results.

CatherineM
The green stuff definitely does its job. I was once in the hospital with two roommates, and they both were having barium enemas the next day. Only time I was glad to have a catheter in. No way I was going to get a turn in the bathroom that night.
Lilllabettt
I personally hate when people call it "UC." To me UC is the University of Cincinnati. I actually miss the colonoscopy drugs they are amesome. The only controlled substance I could ever get addicted to, whatever it was.

CatherineM
I'll bet it was the same stuff they gave me when they put the tube in the other end. They were looking for an ulcer.
Nihil Obstat
I puked when I woke up. Luckily I was still too stoned to mind, so it was all cool. I have a few very vague memories of the procedure itself.
Luigi
I woke up slightly during the procedure - from that twilight state Nihil mentioned. I was looking down toward my stomach, and I could see the light on the end of the scope, glowing through my skin. I muttered/mumbled, "I look like ET." Without missing a beat, the doctor said, "Give him some more, please." And that's the last I remember of that. CatherineM
You'd be surprised how often people wake up on the operating table. Anesthesiologists have really high malpractice insurance. They tend to err on the side of light gas.

I don't think it causes amnesia, although I guess I can't tell.
