emilier98
So one of my priest friends blogs and he posted this blog. Now the Church clearly states that women cannot be ordained and that is backed up by scripture and Tradition. However the topic never seems to fully go away and a few Sisters are still bring up the topic even though the Church closed conversation on it 10 years ago. So I wonder is there some part of teaching or doctrine or scripture that is not clear since female ordination keeps coming up?

OnlySunshine
Thank God, finally, one of these women "priests"/"deacons" came to their senses! May God bless her with faith and fidelity to Holy Mother Church!

MIKolbe
fxd means fixed.. he changed your 10 years to 2000 years, meaning the ordination of women was decided then, not 10 years ago. (or that the conversation was closed 2000 years ago)

At one point the topic had been opened up for conversation in the Church and 10 years ago it was closed and those sisters who continue to discuss it in open forums face censure at minimum. (Got a lovely lesson about this at school because a sister who teaches there brought it up at the Synod of Bishops on the Eucharist.)

CatherineM
Jesus broke every social taboo of his era. Had he wanted to ordain women, he would have. John Paul was just voicing a truth that a lot of people have trouble with. I hope that all the dissenters will eventually accept this truth too.
No. It's pretty clear. People just want to do what they want to do rather than what God says. This has been going on since the beginning of humanity, so it's just taking another form. I feel very sorry for these women and those who support them, as this is open heresy and I think it incurs an automatic excommunication (correct me if I'm wrong, please). It's a barrier in their relationship to God. Prayers for them, since when the teaching is that clear, something spiritual is blocking the reception of the Truth

The deceiver approached Eve and tempted her with the fruit, despite being told by God himself that was not for them, she ate of the fruit and her eyes were opened, its the oldest story we have, being deceived into thinking what we feel is right supercedes the will of God. The deceiver uses his mastery of deception to ensnare the weak, whether it be the forbidden fruit, or some other form of forbidden fruit. ed
