kujo
If you think toppling autocratic regimes and mandating that the people within the country create a democratic government out of nothing is about "bringing freedom to God's children," I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you. Sure our leaders fancy up the reasons with flowery language. But it's really about power, prestige and the pursuit of wealth. These are all justifiable, at least in terms of survival. Of course, it doesn't always work...or ever. Democracy, like a plant, much grow from the soil. Few plants can be uprooted and implanted in foreign, hostile environments. That's why these "people's power" movements are so interesting.
