Catholictothecore
Was just wondering if there was anybody who wanted to have some racing chats, or mope with me about Gordan actually winning again...that wasn't in the script.
Tony
yeah, I didn't realize it was that long since he last won a race! my boy Kahne's on a new team this year, then will move to Hendrick next year. It was good for him to get out of the mismanaged Petty team. And how about that Trevor Bayne winning Daytona!?!?!?
Catholictothecore
Trevor Bayne is going to be amazing. It's just goes to show that no matter how good a car you have, magic, timing, and sometimes pure blind luck are so important when you are racing. It's a shame he wrecked so early at Phoenix on Sunday. What do you think of the new point system, and/or the new car setups? Isn't it nuts that almost a third of the field was in the garage by lap 67? That was truly a monster wreck. How did Kahne finish last week? Tony
the new car setups are okay, they worked for Phoenix but I didn't care too much for the tandem style racing at Daytona. I like the Point system, good finishes are better rewarded (and bad finishes are less rewarded). Maybe the top 5 points could be better though. Make the 3rd vs 4th, 4th vs 5th battles mean a little more.) Kahne finished 6th last week.
Catholictothecore
The speeds are kinda unheard of with all that tandem racing. I'll be honest, I like it, but it also so increadably more dangerous. Some of those three wides at Daytona were nuts. It is funny, though, you watch old videos on Youtube of the first few Daytona 500's, and they started everybody 3 wide. Lol.

Catholictothecore
Thing about NASCAR is that it's an endurance event. It's not for everyone. But those who do love it are hooked.
Tony
yeah those beach races were something. yeah theres a lot more to NASCAR than left turns Pit strategy is a big part of it too.. maybe the must fascinating part about NASCAR are the guys behind the wall. And there are guys spotting for you and such, it can be interesting. If I ever go to a race, I'm bringing a scanner.:D Edited March 2, 2011 by Tony
Catholictothecore
LOL, that's a great idea. I am a very intense video gamer, I can't wait for Nascar 2011 to come out. You have a full radio set in the game, like that. Can't wait.

Catholictothecore
Yeah...ouch...at least Gordon got smacked around a lil bit. Always like it when that happens.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
I'd consider watching Nascar if they actually used stock cars like they claim they do in their title. I mean clearly modify the engine or whatever but the cars they have now are in no way "stock cars." Until then it is a bunch of people with the exact same cars "of the future" making the exact same turns and not about stock car racing. Nascar needs to return to its roots.
