Brother Adam
I would not say that it is a bad sign that a book has one, and there is definitely nothing wrong with going after one - if I ever wrote a book, I would want to have the Churches approval if I could get it, or would want my bishop to tell me what is wrong with the book, if the bishop is faithful. At the same time, you could end up passing over a lot of amesome books that don't have them. I would say the authors of 1/2 the books on my shelf never sought them out, like Thomas Dubay's Faith and Certitude. I guess I would say don't necessarily let your guard down for the sheer reason that it has those marks. Evaluate the message, not the mark.
