Who are your favorite saints? Hopefully we hear some new/different ones, too. :)

How did you learn about them?

When do you ask their intercession/What about their life can you relate to your own?

Any amesome quotes by them?

Some of my favorites:

Therese: I learned about her from a kid's book after my First Communion and have loved her since.

amesome quote by her:
St Therese is probably my favorite, she calls to me beleive it or not, she always shows up in some way in my life, I think she knows I need work. I love St Joseph, St Anthony, St Peregrine, also St Cosmos and St Damien, twin brothers, healers and martyrs, and of coure St Michael the Archangel, then again St Anthony and St Jude get a lot of requests from me. I guess I love the saints for what they represent, the image of Christ.

My five: St. Raphael, St. Thomas More, Padre Pio, St. Alphonsus Liguori, and St. John Bosco.

Some of my other favorites: St. Faustina, St. Therese, St. Clare, St. Anthony, St. Monica, St. Mary Magdalene, Servant of God Montserrat Grases, Bd. Anna Maria Taigi, Ven. Margaret Sinclair (Sr. Mary Francis of the Five Wounds), Ven. Zelie Martin, St. Edith Stein, St. Francis Xavier, Bd. Elizabeth of the Trinity, St. John Vianney ... ah the list goes on and on and on!!!

I love the lives of the Saints, especially (but not entirely!) modern Saints.

Some great books I love that include some lesser-known modern Saints (and some well-known modern ones, too) are Modern Saints: Their Lives and Faces Vol I, Modern Saints: Their Lives and Faces Vol. II, Faces of Holiness, and Faces of Holiness II.

My favorite saints are:

St. Anne--mother of Our Lady and my confirmation saint (her feast day is my birthday). When I chose her, I really didn't know much about her at all. I didn't know how to pick, so the religious Brother in charge of our confirmation said that if you can find a saint whose feast day is your birthday, that is a good way to choose. I looked her up and the rest is history. I kind of ignored her for several years, not thinking very much about her since she isn't very well known, but now I am very happy I chose her as my patron saint. She was a very wise, gentle woman who cared for Our Lady very much. :)

St. Elizabeth--I really love her because of her beautiful strength and faith in God. She never once disbelieved God when His angel told her she would bear a child even though she was barren. My favorite quote of hers is, "Who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Blessed are you and blessed is the fruit of your womb!"

St. Catherine of Siena--this saint tended to follow me around in my youth. She was the most wonderful Dominican saint. I really admired her for giving up her beauty to serve God, and when she was going to be given away in marriage, she cut off her hair and was locked in the tower of her father's house. I look to her as a model of humility and I hope to become a third order Dominican just like her.

St. Rose of Lima--I discovered her through learning about St. Catherine. St. Rose looked up to Catherine and imitated her virtues, especially her beauty. She rubbed her face with lye so she would not attract attention from her looks. She was a strong lady indeed.

St. Francis of Assisi--I love him mostly because he is a patron and friend to the animals. I am majoring in Biology and I hope to be an animal conservation and behavior scientist, so I really look up to him. I also admire him because of his simplicity and joy in the Lord.

Hello! I have waaaay too many "favorite" Saints...but if I had to pick only 1...I think it would have to be St. Monica.
She NEVER gave up on God and BELIEVED her son, Augustine, would be converted. And boy oh boy did he EVER!
I am new to this site and I am still not able to do anything except reply to a post. I can't check the members on here or anything else. I sure hope I get access to the entire PhatMass soon! Pray!!
THROUGH HIM, WITH HIM and IN HIM....................TheresaGrace

That's a difficult question to answer. There are too many of them and they're all so amesome.

Saint Lucy, Saint Agnes, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Augustine, Saint Dominic, Saint Joseph, Saint John the Apostle, Saint Stephen, and Saint Mary Magdalene are some of my favourites.

I also really like Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Bernadine of Siena - they help me out a lot in my daily life. I constantly pray for their intercession on a regular basis, mostly for trivial things such as helping me to find lost items, and for healing from respiratory problems. Two things I seem to have a big problem with.

TeresaBenedicta

So many!

In no particular order:

St. Augustine- profoundly influential in my conversion and one of my favorite thinkers. I spent a lot of time with him while writing my honors thesis.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux- another friend that I spent a lot of time with while writing my honors thesis, considering it was all about his contemplative theology of love... a beautiful saint with an inspiring love of God. A great thinker. A great teacher in the school of love.

St. Teresa Benedicta (Edith Stein)- just an amazing woman, a strong love of God, a strong intellect, a beautiful personality. A role-model to me, as a convert and philosopher.

Bl. Elizabeth of the Trinity- the Carmelite that truly taught me how to prayer. My favorite of all the Carmelite saints... I pray her 'Prayer to the Holy Trinity' every day... she really helped me during a 'slump' in my spiritual life.

St. Dominic Savio & St. John Bosco- Dominic Savio is my confirmation saint and Don Bosco played a huge role in discovering the religious order that I'm entering.

St. Thomas Aquinas- 'nuff said.

St. Teresa of Avila, St. John (beloved disciple), St. Maximilian Kolbe...
