Martyr To Research

Again, she was killed for being Jewish more than for being a convert to Catholicism. So, whether or not she is a martyr for her faith is up for debate. Had she renounced her faith (God forbid), they would have killed her anyway. I mean, she's amesome, and worth researching...but I'm not sure her story fits the assignment.

There are the Trappist martyrs of Atlas, who died just 15 years ago or so (1996), though there is some question whether they were killed by the Islamic extremists who kidnapped them or the French army by mistake. The recent French movie 'Of Gods and Men' (Des hommes et des dieux) is based on their story.

You can start your research at wikipedia, but they certainly aren't canonized at this time.
