A Little Update On My Life

As many of you may know, I periodically drop out of here for medical and health reasons. Recently, I've been having a rough time again.

I recently underwent an anorectal surgery for some bleeding issues and was told I have proctitis - inflammation of the rectal area, as well as pre-cancerous lesions. They were removed but I will continue to need periodic check-ups to make sure things don't go south.

On top of this, my family history is strong with inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease. My gastro doc suspects colitis. I'm going to be going in for a colonoscopy soon.

All of this forced me to drop out of school for the semester as I haven't been in class for almost 4 weeks now, due to the surgery + recovery + all the followup.

I just wanted to let you know how things are going. I'm still optimistic about things and not excessively worried. If you could, say a couple of prayers. It helps to know people want to help :)

You certainly have my prayers. This has been a bad semester for me too. I almost had to drop out of school after hurting both knees on the ice. I'm having to use a wheelchair again, at least until the ice finally melts here. You just do what you can, and take care of yourself.

The same thing happened to me: suspected IBS, then proctitis, then colitis. The endless tests, pills, and nausea. That pain and suffering, which I thought had ruined my life and would never end, is now just a memory. I am nearing the end of my treatment with surgery, and I promise you there is hope for good health and happiness after this diagnosis. I am praying so hard for you because I remember how scary uncertain and uncomfortable the diagnosis stage is especially. You will get better.

I will definitely pray for you (see signature line) - it sounds about as unpleasant as it can get. But just to lighten things up....

My grandmother - a most Catholic woman of happy memory - used to work for a proctologist. And although she was very proper in almost everything, she did occasionally repeat one of the doctor's favoite lines... "I'll get you in the end!"

Man, that doctor sounds like a real pain in the posterior!!

Fidei Sensor, I do hope you recover fast and I will pray for your return to health, God bless you.

Mark of the Cross

Prayers Fidei :amen:

Jesus speaks
I could have summoned a legion of angels to save me
from this agonising end, but how else could I
demonstrate my love for you ? How could I ask you
to endure your pain if I had avoided mine?...
...and so pain explodes into my brain, as nails pierce
my hands and feet. Then I thirst and suffer until I
question my Fathers love.
My reply
I look at you and think, is my soul worth this much?
How much you must love me. How can I show my
love in return?...
...I must accept whatever sickness, torment or
agony is yet to come. To every cross I touch my lips
that lets me be with you, a co-redeemer of humanity.
