Definitely not anything religious for me. For me it's always been relationships with people -- family, friends, coworkers.

this thread made me realized that I need to have a day-to-day goal. I feel the need to accomplish something good for God and His people this day. It doesn't matter if it's big or small, as long as the Good Lord is pleased with it.

This is it: my goal for each day is to please the Lord... and this shall make my day/life fulfillling!

hmmm. i dont think i ever feel fulfilled at the end of a day... there's always a sense of 'there's something more' and even a sense of longing. i think it will be that way all of my life! its that 'already and not yet' thing.

having said that, i still have days that are overwhelmingly positive and this will normally correspond to a valuable prayer experience (sometimes not pleasant experiences, but valuable neverhteless) or having accomplished something difficult but worthwhile. special times with my family also contribute to this - we're a musical bunch so its lovely to end up having a jam with them after dinner. tonight my sister brought home a book with elgar's ave maria and photocopied it and we all sat around the dinner table after our meal sight-singing the four different parts to it. sounded amesome imho

I don't know what it is exactly (prayer?) but since I got my act together and really started liking suffering and sacrifice and understanding the whole "cross" part of Christianity, my days have been SO long and SO fulfilled. Every day since Epiphany (which i think was the day i received the "grace of full conversion") I look back and I'm like, wow, was that seriously one day?

Also - art. I've never been so happy as I have been lately, working on this particular project (from which phatmass offers the ultimate procrastination!)

There's this boy with down syndrome who works with me. I've been assigned to watch him on specific days. He has taught me so much about being childlike and simple. Every interaction with him is such a gift, such a blessing from God.

Not sure that 57 is a boy, but I do love him too. ;) Even though he's a Steeler's fan.

I agree with much of what people have said. It makes me feel good if I was loving and gentle with people I met in the day. Being a witness to Jesus and spreading His love is what really matters to me.

getting through the day without goofing up
putting a smile on someones face
bright sunny days, working like a dog and getting it done
and
a cold beer or two, after dinner
