Prayers For Results On Blood Test

I had blood drawn on Friday to find out whether or not my platelet count has dropped any further than it already has. We're 39 weeks pregnant now, and I'm already walking a fine line on the platelet count; if it gets much lower I won't be able to have an epidural. We're trying to avoid a c-section, and while I don't mind trying for a drug-free VBAC, without an epidural I'll have to be put under should we have to go the c-section route. It was the same way for our firstborn's birth, and I can't help but feel that my both my husband and I were cheated out of a beautiful experience.

Please pray that my platelets stay steady so we can be permitted an epidural during our labor and delivery, and that regardless of the type of birthing experience, that our child and I are able to remain healthy. Please pray that even if my platelets get too low, that they find the cause, and that I don't allow myself to be overcome with bitterness or complaints, but to accept our circumstances as God's will.

Please pray that if it's necessary for me to go under for a c-section, that the hospital staff respect my husband's presence. This is a different hospital than last time, but for our son's birth, no one spoke to my husband for hours after surgery. He waited in our hospital room during the c-section (only medical staff can be present when general anesthesia is used), and when I was brought back to the room, still unconscious and very sick, no one updated him on the situation for hours. No one even told him whether our son was healthy or not, and it wasn't until I woke up that he could get any answers from anyone. Needless to say it was confusing and frightening for him; not to mention we're military with no family near enough to be with us. Please pray that this hospital takes better care of him, as well as us.

Please pray for our 19 month old son to embrace his new role as big brother, and for us to never drop the ball on letting him know how loved and necessary he is in our lives.

Thank you so much.
