Never got into DS9. Caught a few episodes but they didn't grab me. I love TNG, it is my favorite. Voyager was cool especially with the Borg.

What do you think of Enterprise?

DS9 was horrible, until the writers that wrote Babylon 5 came on board, and within episodes the war of the Dominion happened, and that sparked life into it. You could see the influence of Babylon 5 on it, especially the paw wraiths and prophets conflict - as one of the underlining themes of B5 was spirituality in the universe!

Compared to Voyager, I would have to say I loved DS9 much better!

Enterprise was Brenna Brega (the last names of those idiots) brain child and I hated it!

So cool.

Thanks. Making a game level from scratch isn't easy, but it is fun - especially when you see your vision becoming a reality.

Hehe, the first episode of Star Trek I ever saw was Dec. 27, 1993, and it was also a Next Generation episode: 'Chain of Command, part II'. I remember being soooo confused - who are these people and what is going on? And is that really the guy from Reading Rainbow? I didn't like Data at first, but he became my favorite character eventually. I think knowing that he is an android (and therefore not human) helps.

Borg!

That clip was weird. I thought the bald guy was a good guy? He's borg? And why does that other borg have feelings, aren't they ruthless?

Deep Space 9 had far more character development than Generations.

Yes! In Pale Moonlight is a great example.
Garak: If you can allow your anger to subside for a moment, you'll see that they did *not* die in vain! The Romulans will enter the war!
Captain Sisko: There's no guarantee of that!
Garak: Oh, but I think that there is. You see, when the Tal Shiar finishes examining the wreckage of Vreenak's shuttle, they'll find the burnt remnants of a Cardassian optolythic data rod which somehow miraculously survived the explosion. After painstaking forensic examination, they'll discover that the rod contains a recording of a high-level Dominion meeting, at which the invasion of Romulus was being planned.
Captain Sisko: And then they'll discover that it is a *fraud*!
Garak: Oh, I don't think they will! Because any imperfections in the forgery will appear to be a result of the explosion. So - with a seemingly legitimate rod in one hand, and a dead senator in the other, I ask you, Captain - what conclusion would you draw? That's why you came to me, isn't it, Captain? Because you knew I could do those things that you weren't capable of doing? Well, it worked. And you'll get what you want: a war between the Romulans and the Dominion. And if your conscience is bothering you, you should soothe it with the knowledge that you may have just saved the entire Alpha Quadrant. And all it cost was the life of one Romulan senator, one criminal, and the self-respect of one Starfleet officer. I don't know about you, but I'd call that a bargain.
It was a DS9 episode title. Basically a Starfleet Captain sacrifices his morality to bring another government in to the war with the Dominion to stop the Federation from being destroyed. It's told partially as a Captain's Log he deletes at the end of the episode, realizing he can never record what he did.

I always enjoy the episodes with the "simple tailor" :)

You need to watch "The Best of Both Worlds".

Yeah, sorry, weird clip to drop on you there. Picard (the bald captain) is certainly a good guy. He's usually one of the more 'honorable' characters on board (though Worf [the Klingon] tries hard as well). But here, he's using deception as a test. He really doesn't trust the Borg at all.

Obviously, having a borg roaming around the Enterprise is an anomaly, so you'd have to watch the entire 'I, Borg' episode to figure out who Hugh is and why he's not very Borg-like. And...there's a reason the Borg call Picard 'Locutus' as well.

Anyway, yes, it's the two-part season finale/opener "Best of Both Worlds" that explains a lot of this. The Borg threat was first introduced by the first season episode "The Neutral Zone" and later confronted in the second season's "Q Who". But 'Best of Both Worlds' is where you learn who the Borg really are and what they are like.

I have most of DS9, I love it, it's so much darker than the rest. And it's not true, there were plenty of good episodes in season one before the B5 people came on board. It was like all first seasons, "can we make this idea work?"

I don't remember that episode. But it's a great clip. Captain Ahab facing his whale. It does kinda of make the whole plot of First Contact strange, as he is obviously not as scarred then, closer to his borg experience, as he was years later, in First Contact. Hmm...

Well, in First Contact, the earth is in imminent danger. In this one, it's a bit more of a tame crisis. I think the entire episode is on YouTube if you are interested.
