There is no one righteous, not even one;
there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
All have turned away, they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good, not even one.
Their throats are open graves, their tongues practice deceit.
The poison of vipers is on their lips.

It's Romans 3:10-14.

9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written:

“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.”[b]
13 “Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit.”[c]
“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”[d]
14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”[e]
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and misery mark their ways,
17 and the way of peace they do not know.”[f]
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[g]

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Paul takes this from Psalm 14. Read that to put it in the proper context.

"[1] The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."".....

[2] The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there are any that act wisely,
that seek after God."

Then we go to v. 5....

[5] There they shall be in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the RIGHTEOUS.
[6] You would confound the plans of the poor,
but the LORD is his refuge.

Those who are not in Christ are of course not Righteous and this passage makes that clear that this is what is being talked about. To apply the passage to Christians who are trying to live their faith is a misapplication.

My first reaction to the quote was "this sounds like a psalm". And I do like 14 (or 53, they're almost the same)! The first verse is quite poignant.

The experience of sin and the contrast of God's holiness to man's shortcomings are really a wedge not only between those people's lives and God, but they truly affect everyone else - psalmists witnessed it too.

People make us believe in God. People make us disbelieve in God.

Pray for the Lord to bring His people back home so that all may be one, so that all may believe (John chapter 17). This is what Christ came to make new.

I also pray you can find some hope and witnesses of this new reality around this forum, dairygirl.
