The final stages of my sister-in-law's labour were difficult and we discovered 2 weeks afterward why that was - he was diagnosed with a condition called craniosynostosis where the skull prematurely fuses.

He may need to have his head operated upon in order to divide the skull and insert springs to allow the movement that normally exists in a small child's head to allow for brain and skeletal growth. After some indeterminate period of time he will then have another procedure to remove the springs and allow his head to fuse naturally again.

This is a BIG operation for a little boy!

We find out tomorrow - my brother, my SIL and little Lukie are seeing the surgeon, getting the appropriate tests performed and finding out whats going to happen from here.

Please pray for all of them.

I'll be asking the intercession of Servant of God John Paul the Great, and of my little brother, Luke (he passed away shortly after being baptized as a newborn.) Yes - my nephew was named for his late uncle!
