Chamomile
Just wondering... do new Feasts or Memorials for Saints get added to the 1962 Missal? Since the calendar was revised for the OF, are the Feast days the same in both Forms of the Mass? Along the same lines, I remember seeing an FSSP parish celebrating Divine Mercy Sunday, but that's not listed in the Missal I have (I think it was printed before the Feast was announced). Is that changed in more recently-printed EF Missals? It's not on the online Traditional Calendar I usually use, either. So I'm wondering if, in the EF, it's still supposed to be Low Sunday - but I wouldn't think the FSSP would do anything against the rubrics, so I'm curious as to how or if this could be celebrated as both or either/or. I'm asking this because I feel like I read somewhere that once the 1962 Missal was set, it couldn't be changed. But that seems really strange, as there would of course be more Saints and possible other Feasts in the Church, especially if we keep going on for another 1,000 years or so. So I don't know if I misinterpreted what I read, if they were wrong, if adding liturgical days to the Traditional Calendar is more complicated.... or something else! Links or further reading material about this would be appreciated. Thanks & God bless!
