Dave
With the upcoming improved translations to the Mass coming up, I want to know -- is there going to be a new translation of the Liturgy of the Hours, especially since the concluding prayers for most Sundays and feast days are the same as the Opening Prayer in the Mass for those same days? fides quarens intellectum
A few years ago, i had heard that with the new translation of the roman missal, there would be a 12 volume LOTH to accompany it (3 year cycle for office of readings). however, i haven't heard anything else since then, so i'm wondering the same thing. [/quote] Well, that's what I was thinking of --we'd better not get it now! But more than that, all the Sisters have the 4 volume set...to have to buy new ones for ALLLLLLL those Sisters? That would be obnoxiously expensive!

Heck, maybe I'll get the current one when they discontinue it to make room for the new one

TeresaBenedicta
My guess is that it won't be for quite a few years. About a year ago I spoke with the current head of liturgy for the USCCB this very question and he basically said... eventually, but there's nobody working on it right now. I'd wager that there'll be a supplement or something, prior to a new full translation.
tnavarro61
Aww it would be really expensive! I wonder how they implemented the changes in the old times. Maybe they would do the same?
