Is it morally acceptable for someone to be on birth control if their periods are really bad and it will medically help them?
Does the church ever condone it?
Is there even any evidence to back up that birth control will help with periods?
What are some of the damages that birth control can cause to you?
I need serious help here...
I'm a boy...
I don't know what to tell my friend...
shes catholic and says she needs it.
I need great arguments here...

This is definitely a very difficult area.

Humanae Vitae
Lawful Therapeutic Means

15. On the other hand, the Church does not consider at all illicit the use of those therapeutic means necessary to cure bodily diseases, even if a foreseeable impediment to procreation should result there from—provided such impediment is not directly intended for any motive whatsoever. (19)

Also, birth control is not the only means for treating terrible periods. The Paul the VI institute actually specializes in the treatment of women's reproductive issues, such endometriosis. They examine different treatments that are faithful to Church teaching without going to the pill as the fix all for such problems.

The reason that the medical profession pushes the use of the pill is because it's the easiest answer, it doesn't mean it is the RIGHT answer!

Use of birth control can have very damaging effects on a woman's reproductive system. If you ever listen to contraceptive commercials many of the warnings include: loss of fertility, poly cystic ovarian syndrom, and even death!

Also there is a possible link between breast cancer and the birth control.
