Anastasia13
I took: Jr. High Lutheran Confirmation classes Bible courses in high school and jr. high as a Protestant 1st-12th grade with a number of Christian texts including history and literature In College: An intro to philosophy course that covered ideas about God, creation, and something else. An integrated general ed course that covered the reformation with Luther and Calvin and various other ideas and perspectives of the time A philosophy course on the three main Abrahamic faiths An English class where I did papers on religion-one of which was at least for a time a reference article on hell here and is a member article on another website and the other on ecclesiological perspectives from Apostolic vs. Protestant views Extracurricularly: A Catechism course through the Newman club for a quarter where I missed maybe three class sessions, but I had already read a lot of the full catechism on my own for research, papers, debates, and curiosity A number of conversations with a Catholic campus minister when I first started college, and I read a few books including 4 of a set of thin, topical Catholic apologetics books and a book by the Pope Most of a HaYesod (foundations) course at a Messianic synagogue (I'm big on comparative religious stuff) A Bible study course on Beloved Disciple: The Life and Ministry of John by Beth Moore (which is cool because it gave me perspective when I read the apologetics book that dealt with end time) I've been arguing Pro-Catholic views for a while and know at least as much as some Catholics I know (so says the Catholic guy I was dating), plus I know how to use Newadvent.org I'm Orthodox though, even if I am a bit charismatic. (It goes over better with the parents and I'm not personally big enough on the theological position of Pope to deal with that, plus it is part of my ethnic community which is an amesome perk.) tinytherese
I went to Catholic schools from preschool through high school, though the catechesis there was bad. I'm working on my BA in theology at St. Gregory's University. I've taken several theology classes and am in some right now. I don't feel competent in being a church scholar at the moment though. When I look at the answers on the Q and A form I sometimes feel like I don't know much of anything. The bachelor's program at my school isn't strong. That's part of the reason why I'm going for my master's in theology elsewhere.

[/quote] You're very blessed. When I transferred to another university, I plan to take up Religious education but it was not offered since no one enrolls in it, and if ever I enroll, I would be the sole Religious education major. What a pity. So I majored in Legal Management. Edited January 30, 2011 by tnavarro61

Aloysius
hmm... I have a degree in Anthropology, from a Catholic institution, and was taught it in a way that always related it to Catholic doctrine. [mod]Public criticism of mod/admin. Lil Red
no offense intended, but i truly believe that the 'tag' should be reserved for those who have a degree in some field relating to the Church and Her Teachings.
