Abortion Doc Charged With 8 Counts of Murder
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: January 19, 2011 Filed at 10:57 a.m. EST PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia abortion doctor has been charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a woman patient and seven babies that prosecutors say were born alive and then killed with scissors. The charges against Dr. Kermit Gosnell follow a long grand jury investigation. District Attorney Seth Williams says state regulators ignored complaints and failed to visit the clinic since 1993. Williams says the women were subjected to squalid and barbaric conditions at Gosnell's Women's Medical Society, which was shut down last year. Gosnell has been named in at least 10 malpractice suits, including one over the death of a woman who died of sepsis and a perforated uterus.
Unbelievable. Unfortunately, this speaks for itself.

HopefulBride
Sad, sad sad. A part of me was a bit hopeful when reading the title of the post because I thought the charges represented the fact hat the secular justice system was starting to regard abortion as murder. one step at a time I guess. Brother Adam
It is considered murder unless the mother consents to it. That is the only time killing a baby in the womb is legal.
rhetoricfemme
Not that I'm surprised at these horrible things, but I'm still left not knowing what to say. It just leaves a sad pit in the stomach. Prayers.
AudreyGrace
So sad. God have mercy on his soul.
Gosnell "induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord," Williams said.
Isn't that a partial-birth abortion? Or is partial birth at 9 months? Irregardless, it's a "partial-birth" when you think about it. Which is illegal as of now (right?), but Obama doesn't want it to be... God help us. =/ Edited January 19, 2011 by AudreyGrace
Brother Adam
Partial birth is when the baby is delivered, except for the head, and the doctor kills the baby. This practice is sickening even to most pro-death people.

Even if it's only 8 I am glad he's being charged with these murders.

Jaime
I saw the prosecutor interviewed on CNN. It made me sick to my stomach.
rizz_loves_jesus
Ugh I just read about this in Time. They said he kept the bodies of the babies for "no apparent medical reason." What a sicko. And yeah, it is the same thing as a partial birth abortion except Gosnell delivered them fully and then killed them. Funny how it's okay when the baby's head is still inside the mother but once it's out it's horrible. Ugh ugh ugh ugh.

And there are many who get into the clinic, change their minds on the table, and the doctors send them into a "Tylenol Nap" so that they cannot truly protest... ....and, to my knowledge, there haven't been any lawsuits over these happenings, even though the mother did not fully consent. thessalonian
Nail this monster to the wall! I saw this on national news today and the anchor woman had to stop the guy who was talking about it, it was so graphically repulsive, what he did to these little babies. Sternhauser
Is anyone surprised that a psychopath serial killer kept souvenirs of his victims? It's what they do. ~Sternhauser
