Okay, me either to be honest. I just finished reading Confessions on that sort of list of mine; I only read it while waiting in line for Confession.

Yes definitely speak about your own experiences and what you are passionate about and they will pick up on that. I would stress to them to pray always, to say more than a Hail Mary and instead talk to God or Jesus or Mary etc as a friend. Tell them its ok to be upset at God and ask Him why. Tell them to be quiet for a minute too so He can answer them because God speaks in a whisper. Tell them about ACTS or ARTS Adoration Thanksgiving Reparation (or Contrition) and Supplication. God wants to hear a thank you not just a list of wants. He knows what we want and need and He likes us to say please and thank you. Tell them if they have a hard time praying that so did the saints. Tell them to try and pray slooowly not saying ourfatherwhoartinheavenhallowedbethyname.... but to go word by word and really think about the meaning behind them. Tell them about praying for others and that when people irritate or annoy us it could be God trying to get our attention so we will help that person by praying for them. I had to give a talk about prayer to Confirmation kids once and those were some of the things I covered because I felt passionate about them and I told stories about my own life as well.
