Livin_the_MASS
Sounds like in late October John Paul II's beatification will take place. Luigi
He canonized my favorite saint (Mother Duchesne), so I'll ask her to pray for his beatification. I'll add a request that it be done in when LoveLetsLive can attend (but I make no promises in that regard) - Mother Duchesne was from Europe herself, so I'm sure she'll be sympathetic to your request! Hinter dem Horizont
Congratulations Pope John Paul II. You were very liberal but I won't judge you for that. My favourite popes will always be Pius XII and Benedic XIV but I love you too Paul II because you're a great man.
Dave
On some more traditionalist-minded forums I occasionally peruse, SSPX attendees and supporters never have anything good to say about John Paul II, but now the vitriol and outright hate is really coming out among them. What's worse is that I've also seen some posts from diocesan, FSSP, and/or ICRSS Latin Mass attendees who say they will switch to the SSPX or SSPV if John Paul II gets beatified and/or canonized. Oh well. May the door not hit them in the butt on the way out the door. Edited January 15, 2011 by Dave

KnightofChrist
But not all traditionalists are like that, not even all of the SSPX, let's not base our opinion for a whole group of people based on a few. Most of the one's I know only have reservations on the quickness of his Beatification, but it is not a rejection it, and do accept it. John Paul II, Bishop of Rome, pray for us! KnightofChrist
Well good, I didn't mean you personally, but it would be sad for this thread to turn into a fight between any of us. That being said, I believe John Paul II's greatest accomplishment was his fight and rescept for the sanctity of life. A truth he not only spoke but lived out even in pain and suffering towards the end of his life.

I will be watching the beatification on EWTN.
