Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
Dominus Pax, (ummm sorry if only priests are meant to use that emo lol maybe people that hope to be priestly can use it too ) Was Just wondering about the churches opinion on lasting non denominational ministries like Christian Alliance Church and the Uniting Church. Unsure if there in the U.S., if not pick two long lasting Non Denominational Ministries from wherever your from and relay back to me your stance and/or the churches stance on these. And also any church data on the new rising of praise and worship ministries like Hillsong. Yours Truely Tab'le Du'Bah-Rye God Bless
CatherineM
I dealt with a lot of ecumenical organizations 20+ years ago, and I felt like I was walking a tight rope a lot of the time. It can be hard at times. Some groups do wonderful work locally, but accept funding from organizations that are unacceptable. Salvation Army is a good example. This kind of thing isn't limited to just non-denoms either. There can be trouble with Catholic organizations or charities that do a lot of good, but send some of their money overseas to groups that don't adhere to Catholic doctrines. What you have to do is ask lots of questions. Find out where their money comes from, where it goes, and what it is used for. Now there are some groups that are officially banned like the Masons, but for the most part, non-denom charities aren't officially banned by the church. There also might be a case where a local group of a national charity is okay in one city, but not in another. Again, you have to ask lots of questions, and if you don't like the answers, walk away and find another group to support. There isn't a shortage of worthwhile charities.
