Nihil Obstat
Spend a few hours a week practicing stick-handling. Start without skating, then move forward slowly, gradually faster, then skate backwards, do crossover turns, quick stops, etc. The only thing is practice. There's no other way to get better. [/quote] I should practice stick-handling -- with a puck -- when skating backwards, doing crossover turns, and stops? That sounds tough. I'll have to try that tomorrow! I've been practicing with a golf ball. And I decided to get that guys videos. He's amazing! I think that I'm going to set up a goal on the pavement on the side of the house and practice over there. I can wear rollerblades. But I may just practice mainly in shoes.

Kids who play hockey practice this about four times a week every week from November through to about March, so it's something that takes time. I made a discovery yesterday though. Don't go for the puck with your head down.. Now I see why it's important to keep your head and chest up.
